Welcome to the Kewaunee County Special Olympics web site. This organization believes in the need for both children and adults with intellectual disabilities to have sports that they can excel in. Thanks to many dedicated parents and volunteers we have a fantastic group here in Kewaunee County.

To be eligible to participate in Special Olympics, athletes must be at least 8 years old and identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disability; a cognitive delay as determined by standardized measures such as intelligence quotient or other generally accepted measures; or a closely related development disability, i.e., functional limitations in both general learning and adaptive skills. There is no cost to participate in Special Olympics. All prospective athletes must register to participate in Special Olympics. Please contact Amy Vlies to do so, she will have the required information for you.
Submission of an Athlete Registration Form, which contains registration information, medical information and a medical certification; and Submission of an Athlete Release Form, which contains a release to be signed by an adult athlete or by the parent/guardian of a minor athlete concerning medical matters and publicity permissions.
Thanks to gracious donations and attendance at our fundraiser's our athletes were able to participate at all levels in our Olympic style events.
